Course Description
Perfectionism is more than striving for high standards – it is a rigid, self-critical pattern that fuels anxiety, depression, and a wide range of psychological problems. This practical, skills-focused workshop will equip mental health professionals with an evidence-based framework for understanding, assessing, and treating problem perfectionism. Drawing on cognitive-behavioral models and recent research, participants will explore effective strategies for identifying and addressing unrelenting standards, cognitive biases, and safety behaviors that maintain perfectionism. Emphasis will be placed on cognitive restructuring, behavioral experiments, exposure-based approaches, and the integration of mindfulness and acceptance-based methods. Attendees will leave with step-by-step interventions, practical tools, and guidance for managing treatment challenges, grounded in current best practices and leading CBT resources.
