Course Description
The research and application of mindfulness-based interventions and been booming in recent decades. However, without proper understanding and experience with these methods, therapists can accidentally reinforce avoidance strategies and make clients worse. When mindfulness is used as a kind of exposure therapy, it can transform how clients relate to their own thoughts, emotions, and body sensations.
In this six-hour webinar with lecture, discussion, and experiential exercises, Dr. Richard Sears will explore what mindfulness is, the clinical and neurological mechanisms that make it work, and how to apply it to a wide range of presenting issues, including anxiety, depression, chronic pain, trauma, and insomnia.
