Course Description
Diversity and multicultural topics often have been sprinkled on
different courses during graduate school, leaving some clinicians frustrated in not obtaining a full understanding of this topic and how it impacts clinical practice. This CE course provides mental health professionals with an opportunity to examine their own social contexts and biases, and how they impact the therapeutic relationship when working with diverse populations, including BIPOC, neurodivergent, differently abled, and LGBTQ communities. This workshop demonstrates how to weave multiculturalism and diversity into all aspects of your clinical practice using self-reflection and an internal locus of responsibility. The webinar will explore cultural humility, liberation psychology, and how to apply decolonial frameworks to check one’s own biases and stereotypes.
