Course Description

The practice of clinical supervision and its regulations are fast-evolving. In this course, you will learn the latest developments in the field. This competency-based practice supervision seminar offers a lively discussion of best practices, including (1) creating a supervisory relationship with transparency and abundant corrective and constructive feedback; (2) transforming supervisee self-assessment of competencies into the supervisory contract; and (3) identifying supervisees who do not meet performance criteria and how to develop action plans to address these deficiencies. Competency standards for each discipline will be explored as a framework for the structure of supervision.

Carol Falender Ph.D.

is co-author of the bestselling Clinical Supervision: A Competency-based Approach and co-editor of Casebook for Clinical Supervision: A Competency-based Approach with Edward Shafranske. Both books are published by American Psychological Association. She conducts workshops and seminars across the United States, Canada, and internationally. She has received recognition for her supervision and her contributions to psychology and is a fellow of the American Psychological Association.

Registration Information

A continental breakfast, catered lunch, and afternoon snacks are included in the registration fee for all seminars.

The course fee is determined by the date of payment in relation to the course date:

  • Early Registration: If payment is received 3 weeks prior to the seminar date.
  • Regular Registration: For payments received by the Wednesday prior to the seminar date.
  • Last Minute Registration: For payments received the Thursday or Friday prior to the weekend of the seminar. Last minute registration is dependent on available space.

Cancellation Policy

There is a $35.00 processing fee, per seminar, for refunds requested by the Wednesday prior to the weekend of the seminar. After that time, there will be no refunds. If a course must be cancelled due to an unforeseen event (e.g., natural disaster, instructor illness), the seminar will be rescheduled. Participants will be credited to take the rescheduled course or another PPS seminar. No refunds will be given.
