This workshop will provide an overview of the Buddhist philosophy and its effect on both trauma and suffering. This course was devised by John Briere, Ph.D., an associate professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Southern California. He is the author and co-author of over 75 different articles in the field. The course’s objectives include metacognitive awareness and its application to trauma therapy as well as the concept of metacognitive awareness. This course also will outline the benefits of therapist compassion in trauma treatment.
