Course Description

This (almost) anxiety-free seminar provides therapists with tools to negotiate the legal minefields therapists face in practice. Participants will receive many updates including changes in laws that effect record keeping (e.g., access to records, retention, security requirements) and duty to warn requirements (i.e., the Ewing decision). The course will address therapist dilemmas such as informing parents when an adolescent reveals risky/dangerous behavior during treatment, how to avoid being drawn into patient's legal battles, and how to say "no" to a patient's attorney. Each attendee will leave with excellent articles, and updated office forms and risk management tips to help avoid complaints by patients to licensing boards.

Pricing: $165 (Early Registration), $180 (Regular Registration), $195 (Last Minute Registration)
