This course presents information on how to assess conduct disorders using a variety of methods and instruments. There is a review of treatment approaches and their effectiveness. The approaches reviewed include behavioral, cognitive, family therapy, group therapy, psychodynamic and biological. The appendix includes a list of resources for clinicians.

OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to: (1) describe assessment strategies and techniques for assessing conduct disorders; (2) state the different approaches to treat conduct disorders and their relative effectiveness; and (3) describe the role of medication in treatment.
